It would seem like the rumors were true!
Rumors had been circling around Hollywood since last month that Natalie Portman had named her son, Alef. The name could have been a possible bastardization of the word Aleph, the first letter in the Hebrew alphabet. The guess was close though!
According to People Magazine, Portman has indeed named her son Aleph! We could guess a few reasons as to why. Portman, whose original surname is Hershlag, is of Jewish descent and is a well-known Zionist.
Well, sources say that there might be some significance to the name. It could be a way for her to honor some of her relatives, dead and alive.
Whatever it is lets just hope she doesn’t stick with the alphabet when naming her future babies. If she does insist on doing so though, she could try Beta (which is the second letter of the Greek alphabet) for her second child!
We sincerely hope her baby grows up healthy!
